The aptly named Sweetie Pie has been South Africa’s sweetheart for the last few decades. Chocolate connoisseurs will agree that nothing quite compares to biting into the chocolate coated wafer and soft centre of whipped crème encased in a smooth milk chocolate. It really is a delightful mouthful.
Beyers Chocolates, South Africa’s largest independent chocolate manufacturer, is the manufacturer of this original sweet treat.
“Sweetie Pie is an established South African favourite and since it was relaunched by Beyers Chocolates in 2014, the demand has been growing and growing,” says Kees Beyers of Beyers Chocolates. “We have also been receiving requests for new flavours and that’s why we have decided to introduce two new editions to add to the beloved Sweetie Pie family.”
The new strawberry Sweetie Pie in a pretty pink foil wrapper dotted with tiny red strawberries is a cheeky new edition with a delicious strawberry flavour which gives a tempting tangy twist to an old favourite.
Sweetie Pie Black is the darker decadent cousin, enticing us with a rich, luxurious chocolate mallow encased in a crisp dark chocolate dome. Look out for the distinctive black foil wrapper to enjoy this luscious treat.
Or if you still have a soft spot for the original, simply stick to the velvety vanilla Sweetie Pie in the red wrapper to enjoy the familiar flavour of your favourite darling.
This year’s event will also feature chocolate workshop theatres hosted by Master Chocolatier, Kees Beyers and his skilled team.
The Beyers Chocolates stand will be stocked with their full range of products including all the ingredients used in their chocolate workshop demos. Indulge your passion for all things cocoa and coffee and catch the Experience in Durban from the 29th of April to the 2nd of May (Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World), Johannesburg from the 14th to the 17th of July (Montecasino) and in Cape Town from the 24th to the 25th of September (Green Point Cricket Club).
